Assata Madison

Teaching Artist

Assata is a professional tap dancer from Los Angeles. She is a part of the all women viral sensation tap group, Syncopated Ladies, who Beyoncé hired to perform at her Top Shop Ivy Park Launch in London. In her youth, Assata trained with Paul and Arlene Kennedy and Universal Dance Designs. As a UCLA undergraduate, she studied under Lynn Dally, Artistic Director of Jazz Tap Ensemble. She also studied at the Jacob’s Pillow Tap Program in 2010 and 2012. She has taught at the DC Tap Festival and at Sarah Reich’s Monday Night Tap Experience. Assata teaches throughout Los Angeles at TGF, Lula Washington Dance Theatre, Creative Learning Academy, and Chloe & Maud Foundation. Assata is a member of Ric’key Pageot & Dessy Di Lauro’s Parlor Social. Her passion is to inspire others through dance to express their gifts and discover their passion and purpose.
