Nicole Mae Martin is a passionate youth arts cultural worker. She has had the privilege of working with youth all over Los Angeles for over 10 years for LAUSD after school programs, non profits and school curriculums. Her mission when guiding youth is to provide students with a positive and safe space so that they feel empowered to learn ,grow.. and to ultimately strive to become the best version of themselves. Nicole Mae Utilizes the performing arts as her tool to help students find their inner strengths and unlimited potential. Her experience with these organizations helped her gain curriculum development skills in dance, theatre and visual arts . Her training as an undergrad in the dance department at UCLA also aided in her diverse dance vocabulary. She has trained in many dance forms from West African, Afro -Cuban, Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip-Hop and Modern. Although trained in these forms, She is also well versed in various street dance styles such as Bgirling, Poplocking, Locking and Whacking. She also performs as a traditional Pilipino folk dancer , martial artist and musician. Ultimately her hopes as an performing arts educator is to help students gain new insights about themselves ,their communities and ultimately the world.
